Business Case

The solution automatically creates and maintains an electronic audit database which fully complies with the NI 195 methodology & requirements set by DEFRA. Local authorities can therefore optimise their resource deployment in value adding activities instead of operational tasks such as manually re-entering data, validity checks and auditing.

Our NI 195 reporting suite has been designed to specifically replicate the analysis and charts provided on the DEFRA website. Inspection results can be analysed through the use of performance tables and charts to measure how your authorities results will be interpreted/reflected when submitted to DEFRA. Furthermore reporting features are designed to facilitate on-going management and the investigation of results. For example the Transect Statistics report can be used to find wards that are low on transects of a particular land-use class or to identify gaps (e.g. land-use class does not exist in transect data). Local authorities can then aim to remove bias by planning for the creation of transects and so build a more evenly distributed and representative dataset.

Our NI 195 can be implemented to streamline existing business processes and has improved the productivity of field inspectors by up to 40%, as the solution increases accuracy of data captured, thereby reducing errors and omissions and so in turn saves money.

A single NI 195 solution can be deployed for a unitary council, thereby aiding in the elimination of duplication and streamlining of existing processes.  The NI 195 Unitary solution  has the capacity to collect and analyse inspection data on a local and regional level, allowing for NI 195 data collected as a whole unified unitary to be broken down by district, borough and county for individual analysis and accumulated as a whole for submittal to DEFRA.

Some authorities may use “thin” client mobile devices for field inspection, which rely on connectivity for optimal performance.  This can greatly impede field officers productivity as they might not have access to data when necessary in a timely manner (for example if in a rural area).  Our NI 195 solution uses an unique combination of web based management tools and a “smart” mobile device, which simultaneously benefit from automatic updates and high performance & high productivity.

Envirohub modules can be deployed with an authorities changing requirements & functionality and can be integrated with third party systems to support collaboration and transparent performance management and monitoring.
